Jewelry care
To ensure the durability of your jewelry, we recommend that you follow these rules:
We recommend to put on the jewelry in the morning and take it off before going to bed. Hard physical exercises can also cause jewelry to wear out quickly. We recommend taking off the jewelry before working around the house, gardening, cooking, swimming, and doing sports.
To avoid deformation and scratches on the surface, the jewelry should be worn with caution. They must not be directly exposed to hard or rough objects that can damage the precious metal, including other jewelry, door handles, railings, garden tools, other tools, ceramic, and clay products.
Keep each piece of jewelry separately, not to scratch it, and away from heat sources and direct sunlight. Do not store silver and gold together, this causes the metal to oxidize. Do not place heavy objects on jewelry. The necklace and chains should be closed and carefully placed so that they do not get tangled.
GOLD
We recommend you regularly clean gold jewelry without the stones, using the means to care for your jewelry without abrasives. This way you can clean jewelry without the risk of damage.
SILVER
If you want your products to remain shiny, regularly use a special cloth to polish the silver, avoiding contact with the stone.
For general cleaning of silver jewelry, we recommend using mild soap, water, and a soft-bristled brush (such as a toothbrush), then rinse and pat with a soft cloth.
Jewelry covered with gold and rhodium should be carefully polished with a soft, dry cloth made of 100% cotton or microfiber. NEVER use a silver polishing cloth or chemical cleaning agents to clean such jewelry, as they may damage the coating.
White and black rhodium coatings.
Rhodium plating is the final treatment of the gold surface. Numerous layers of rhodium make the surface of the gold white or black, creating white or all-black gold. Over time, depending on how often the jewelry is used, the thin rhodium coating wears off naturally. At any time, a new rhodium coating can be applied to it, restoring the original appearance of the decoration.
The oxidized silver.
Oxidation is the treatment of the surface of precious metal, in which silver looks grayish-black. Daily used jewelry made of oxidized silver is polished in open areas and eventually completely erased on smooth surfaces.Oxidized silver jewelry should not be exposed to detergents for jewelry, they will destroy the oxidation. The oxidized silver surface can only be cleaned with warm water.
Colored stones
jewelry with colored stones should be worn with caution and it is not recommended to knock on hard surfaces or objects.
Jewelry with stones should be cleaned so that the cleaning product does not get on the stone.
We hope that these recommendations for the care of jewelry will be useful to you and you will use them. Thank you for purchasing jewelry from MASKOM!
